Hollow Lantern: what to do when you're stuck
Hollow Lantern is fair, but it assumes you're paying attention, and it's easy to breeze past a crucial detail. Almost every time we got stuck, the answer was somewhere we'd already been.
Our first advice is boring but works: revisit rooms you cleared earlier. The game quietly changes things after certain events, and objects you couldn't use before often become the key later on.
Read everything twice. The notes scattered around aren't just flavor — several puzzles hinge on a phrase or number tucked into a diary entry. We solved the clock puzzle only after rereading a letter we'd skimmed.
If you're still stuck, step away. This is a slow game, and coming back with fresh eyes solved more puzzles for us than any brute-force clicking ever did.
