Neon Drift Circuit: the shortcuts worth the risk

Neon Drift Circuit hides shortcuts behind tricky drift sections, and part of the fun is deciding whether to gamble on them. The trick is knowing which ones actually save time versus which just look cool.

As a rule, if a shortcut requires you to break your boost chain to reach it, skip it during a time trial. Keeping your boost flowing usually beats the raw distance you save. We learned that the hard way after blowing several 'perfect' laps.

On longer circuits, though, the risk pays off. The tunnel shortcut on the harbor track alone shaved almost two seconds off our best time once we nailed the entry angle.

Practice the entries in free ride mode. Committing to a shortcut mid-race with rivals around you is nerve-wracking, and muscle memory is the only thing that makes it consistent.
